Spring to Action!!!

Are we ready?

Here it is.

The season of longer days, more light, and time to act.
The season of renewed energy and new life.
The season of rebirth, rejuvenation, and resurrection.
The season of re-creation!

What form of recreation will we choose?

What ways will we choose to improve our health and increase our calorie burning activities?

Let’s set some goals! Let’s plan the action for this spring. Whatever we choose, let’s write it down. It’s helpful to carry our goals with us in some form—in your laptop screen saver, in your calendar or daily organizer, in your wallet or purse. It’s helpful to share these goals with a friend who you can trust to be supportive and not judgmental. Then check from time to time how you’re doing in the incremental journey to achieve your aspirations.

Earlier this week I had the chance to talk with my good friend and colleague Sen. Mike Machado. He shared with me that he’s walking his dog starting about 6 in the morning.

Mike gets in a heart pumping three miles---but of even greater importance is the fun and miracle of seeing the sunrise and enjoying the peace and tranquility of a new day on his farm.

Try to get out early sometime in the next few weeks and catch the sunrise wherever you are.

It’s inspiring and refreshing as a new day is re-created!

Spring forward. Enjoy the actions you choose!
