About My First 5k
Whether it’s your first 5k ever, or your first in 2011, you’re sure to enjoy this time of celebration. The race will culminate with a New Year’s toast and an opportunity to write down your personal 2011 health resolution.

WHEN:  Sunday, January 2, 2011. Rain or Shine!
WHERE:  California State Capitol (West Steps), 10th Street and Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814

TIMES
Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup:  7 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Kids’ Winter Fun Runs:  Ages 5 & under, quarter mile: 8:10 a.m. | Ages 6 to 10, half mile: 8:20 a.m.
5k Run/Walk: 8:30 a.m.
New Year’s Toast & Awards Ceremony: 9:45 a.m.
New Year’s Resolution Expo: 7 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

COURSE
My First 5k is a flat and fast 5 km (3.1 mile) run/walk for people of all ages and  fitness abilities. It will begin and end at the State Capitol and loop around beautiful Capitol park. View Course Map [PDF].

AGE DIVISIONS
12 & under, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 5 year increments to 80+

TEAM INFO
We encourage you to partake as a team, whether it’s a corporate team, or a group of friends and/or family. Special prize for the team with the most members who complete the race!
