Workplace
Workplace programs of the Task Force promote the importance of healthier options at worksites to increase employee health and company bottom lines. With the current cost of obesity, overweight and physical inactivity at over $40 billion in California, worksite wellness programs are more important than ever.

The California Fit Business Award
Our Workplace Committee project, the California Fit Business Award, annually recognizes public and private organizations that combat California’s obesity epidemic by creating a worksite environment that supports healthy choices.  For more details, including how to apply, visit the Fit Business Award webpage.

Assistance With Applications
Leah Cox, Executive Director, is happy to consult with you during the application process. Should you have any questions, or would like your application to be pre-reviewed prior to submission, please contact Leah Cox directly. Ms. Cox does not review final applications, score applicants, or have any influence on the reviewers during the scoring process. The application has changed in format quite significantly this year to make the application and review process easier and less time-consuming. However, the content requested and high standard of quality remain constant. Please read the Directions Document carefully to understand any changes in the application process and expectations.

All applications are read and scored independently by two reviewers whose scores are then combined and averaged. Applicants will be placed in one of four categories, assuming they receive the minimum point value: Honorable Mention, Bronze, Silver or Gold. This is not a competitive process.
